Shift Engineer

Job Title: Shift Engineer (Plumbing Bias) Location: Paddington Basic Salary: £49,400 10% Shift Allowance Shift Pattern: Continental Alice Rose Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Shift Engineer with a plumbing background to join one of the UK’s largest property services providers. This role is based at one of Paddington’s most prestigious mixed-use estates, where you will form part of a two-man shift team operating on a continental shift pattern. The successful candidate will be apprentice-trained or fully qualified via City & Guilds/NVQ in plumbing or mechanical disciplines, with proven experience in commercial building services maintenance. You will be confident working independently or as part of a team, delivering both planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a wide range of building services systems. Shift Engineer Key Responsibilities * Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance across building services equipment in line with contractual SLAs. * Service, maintain, and repair: * FCUs and AHUs * Pressurisation units * Pumps (including seal repairs) * HVAC plant systems * BMS Head End controls * Undertake minor plumbing installations as required. * Respond promptly to faults, ensuring plant is kept in full operational order. * Experience with CHP, absorption chillers, vacuum waste/toilets, sprinkler systems, generators, and chilled beams would be highly advantageous. Shift Engineer Requirements * City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 in Plumbing or Mechanical discipline. * Proven track record in commercial building maintenance (corporate offices, banks, hotels, or high-end residential). * Strong plumbing/mechanical background, particularly pumps and system repairs. * Excellent communication skills with a proactive, self-sufficient attitude. * Familiarity with safe systems of work procedures (PTW, RAMS)
