The Job Summary: Wrightbus is a fast-moving company which has experienced considerable growth in the last year. As part of this continued growth we are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering Design team. The successful candidate will have responsibility to support the further development of our Electrical Engineering Design, specifically planning and integration of the electrical control for bus body and chassis electrical systems with respect to hardware components, harnesses and panels. Key Tasks: Support the NPD Strategy for EV, FCEV, and HEV electrical control systems and electric powertrain charging systems. Participate in the full vehicle life cycle from concept, engineering design, prototype build, certification, to Job 1. Work effectively within a cross-functional team on overall vehicle development. Elicit stakeholder requirements for new product developments. Select electrical components and systems for vehicle designs ensuring standards compliance. Design and specify electrical hardware for subsystem integration (e.g. fuseboards, switchboxes). Liaise with suppliers to meet timing, specification, and engineering requirements. Assess and analyze components and systems to develop optimal vehicle solutions. Design and develop CAN communications systems and architecture. Design low and high voltage control systems for bus body and chassis, including wiring harnesses and panels. Document, validate, and provide FMEA for design reviews and NPD gateways. Create technical documentation for vehicle electrical systems and installation (e.g. schematics, schedules, harness drawings). Provide and coordinate vehicle test plans, commissioning, testing, and data logging. Provide technical assistance to production, support engineers, and customers. Continue developing electrical systems to improve installation and reduce manufacturing cost. Coordinate with assembly and manufacturing teams to define and implement electrical system assembly. The Requirements: HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent). Minimum of 1 year experience in a relevant engineering environment. Experience in commissioning and testing electrical control systems. Knowledge of wiring harness design and manufacture. Knowledge of electrical control systems hardware design.
