Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $3,010 per week in Long Beach, CA

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: RN Specialty: Client Child Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: - ACLS (AHA) - AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) - BLS (AHA) - NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Must-Have: - Cerner experience required - Ability to circulate C-sections Description: Cerner experience required. Unit includes Labor and Delivery and Postpartum areas. There are 8 Labor and Delivery beds with 6 overflow beds. There are 7 triage beds in Labor and Delivery. Postpartum has 40 beds for Mother/Baby, antepartum, and GYN. Approximately 1800-2000 births occur per year. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced. Must be able to circulate during C-sections. Labor and Delivery ratios are 1:2 for labor, 1:1 for delivery, and 1:3 for triage. Mother/Baby and Postpartum ratios are 1:4 couplets. The facility uses Cerner for FHM and EMR systems. Charge nurses may take patient assignments. Nurse aides/OB techs assist with C-section scrubbing and patient care. Weekend shifts are required every other week. Call duty is not mandatory, but can be picked up if desired. Holiday shifts rotate with core staff. Scrubs for Labor and Delivery are provided; postpartum scrubs are navy. Potentially responsible for telemetry on mothers, but not responsible for strips. No ventilator support is provided; an OB/Neonatologist is available on-site 24/7. Anesthesia and Neonatologist services are also available 24/7. Pharmacy and RT services are available 24/7. Shifts are from 0630 to 1900 or from 1830 to 0700. Experience with C-sections is required. Floating to Postpartum may be necessary. Floor-specific orientation consists of 1-2 shifts with a preceptor. Common patient diagnoses include standard labor, multiples, high-risk cases, vacuum, and VBACs. This facility is baby-friendly, featuring teams of LD RNs, NICU RNs, and RTs attending C-sections. Cancellation policy allows the facility to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
