Pay Information $2,506 to $2,614 per week About The Position Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Team Location: Plattsburgh, NY Shift: 12H Night 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Duration: 32 weeks Start Date: November 17 Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) float team. The RN will provide high-quality patient care across multiple units, adapting to the needs of the unit and patient population. This role requires flexibility, as the RN will work every other weekend minimum and have a schedule adjusted to meet unit and patient care demands. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to PCU patients, including managing insulin and cardiac drips, starting IVs, and post-cardiac catheterization care. Float between units as needed, maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Use Epic electronic medical records (EMR) efficiently for documentation and patient care. Work two out of the three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Day/Eve. Requirements: Current NY RN license or proof of application with submission date included (note: NY licensing process takes 6-8 weeks). Minimum of 1 year of tele monitoring experience. Certification requirements: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (NIHSS must be obtained prior to start). Recent Epic EMR experience within the last 2 years is mandatory. Proficient with insulin drips, cardiac drips, IV starts, and post-cardiac catheterization patient care. Additional Information: Orientation sessions held bi-weekly on Mondays. Work schedule runs Monday through Sunday; no block scheduling available. Reliable transportation is essential as public transport is not accessible in this area. Personal or rental vehicles with all-season or snow tires (Nov-April) strongly recommended.
