Job Description Job Description The Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island’s Trauma Recovery Center (JCCGCI’s TRC) is dedicated to promoting equality, justice, and healing in our community. We are committed to providing support and resources to individuals affected by violent crime and trauma through our Trauma Recovery Center. Our mission is to create a safe and inclusive environment that fosters healing and growth. The Clinical Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the provision of high-quality clinical services within the Trauma Recovery Center. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to provide supervision, guidance, and support to a diverse team of clinicians. The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of culturally responsive and trauma-informed care while upholding the TRC's Core Values. The Clinical Supervisor will report directly to the Program Director. Mental Health Staff Management and Participant Flow: · Recruit, select, and orient candidates for temporary and career positions when vacancies exist. · Provide 1 hour of individual weekly supervision to TRC staff clinicians and Interns. · Facilitate group supervisions and lead high-risk case discussions monthly. · Determine caseload and workload for all clinical social workers based on the number of on-call shifts, intakes, participants, and administrative duties—this will be done in consultation with other clinical supervisors when applicable. · Determine the total number of clinical slots available and troubleshoot when the census is overly full or down. · Develop, implement, and monitor compliance with policies related to standards of clinical care. · Communicate and clarify policies and procedures at all-staff meetings as needed. · Develop a monthly schedule for on-call shifts and intakes. · Coordinate needs assessment and implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion trainings and meetings. · Coordinate collective care meetings and support staff in addressing vicarious trauma. · Coordinate professional development trainings. Clinic Oversight: · Serve as on-site supervisor, managing emergencies through de-escalation, containment, staff debriefing, reporting, role clarification, and ensuring appropriate clinical follow-up. · Train and oversee on-call mental health staff to maintain consistent standards of care for victims seen in the ER, inpatient settings, and follow-up visits. Liaison Work within TRC: · Attend bi-weekly research meetings with database/administrative staff around productivity and billing. · Meet as needed with front desk staff to address inter-team issues and conflicts that are happening as well as to increase coordination. · Provide training on healthy boundaries to new front office hires as needed. · Meet as needed with the Rape Treatment Center team manager to discuss coordination/issues between the medical provider team and the mental health team. · Meet weekly with the Director to report on all activities and make decisions on issues that have arisen. · Attend weekly all-staff meetings. · Facilitate monthly interdisciplinary team meetings and monthly high-risk case review meetings. Teaching and Trainings: · Conduct annual safety and de-escalation training for all TRC staff and trainees. · Engage in presentations and workshops to community partners. Community and Hospital Liaison Work: · Attend monthly Sexual Assault Response Team meetings as the TRC mental health team representative. · Develop and maintain a relationship with the local Victim Services Office of the District Attorney’s Office to promote cooperation and collaboration. · Attend ad hoc task forces, meetings, and forums as requested. Clinical Care: · The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a small caseload of up to 15 participants for individual psychotherapy sessions. · The Clinical Supervisor must also conduct at least one group psychotherapy session per week. Documentation and Data Collection: · Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all clinical services, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge notes, in compliance with TRC policies and regulatory requirements. · Oversee data collection processes to track service utilization, clinical outcomes, and program effectiveness, ensuring alignment with the TRC model of care. · Collaborate with director to analyze data, identify trends, and inform program improvements. · Maintain compliance with confidentiality and ethical standards in all documentation and record-keeping practices. · Provide training and supervision to clinicians on best practices for documentation and data integrity. Qualifications: · LMHC or LCSW required. · LCSW/SIFI highly preferred. · Current and unrestricted license to practice in the State of New York. · Minimum of 5-year experience providing Clinical Supervision to Trauma Therapists. · Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision to mental health professionals. · Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatments for trauma. · Excellent leadership and communication skills. · Ability to establish a supportive and collaborative working relationship with staff. · Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 15 pounds. · Cultural-humility, empathy, agility, and respect consistent with the TRC's Core Values.
