Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details – Vero Beach, FL Position Title: Locum Tenens Med/Surg Telemetry RN (Travel Nurse) Location: Vero Beach, Florida (32960) – Florida nursing jobs Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital Unit: Overflow (Med/Tele) Unit Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30) Assignment Length: 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Salary: $1350-$1380 Start Date: November 4, 2025 End Date: February 3, 2026 Scrub Color: White Charting System: EPIC Parking: Free parking in any unrestricted space Float Policy: Float to all 3 affiliated hospitals within 20 miles (Martin North, South, Tradition) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active or pending RN license accepted (Florida RN license preferred) Minimum 18 months of recent Telemetry or Acute Care RN experience (2 years preferred) PCU or Cardiac Telemetry experience required (must be documented in skills checklist) Experience with vasoactive drips and stroke patient care required Certifications: BLS and ACLS required at time of submission; NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start Nicotine-free (negative 10 Panel Nicotine drug screen required) First-time travel nurses welcome Must pass EKG and Pharmacology tests during orientation (2 attempts max each) All requested time off (RTO) must be included at submission Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg Telemetry overflow unit Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; utilize rapid response and code teams Administer blood products; manage central and peripheral lines Oversee cardiac drips (no titration), oxygen therapy, and non-invasive airway management Implement isolation precautions and continuous telemetry monitoring Care for PCU, DOU, IMC, Stepdown, stroke, and cardiac patients Float to affiliated hospitals within scope as needed Complete required onboarding modules promptly Join our collaborative healthcare team in Vero Beach and make a difference in patient care at a top Florida teaching hospital.
