Temporary Kitchen Assistant Location: Sheringham Contract Type: Temporary Working Hours: 08:00-14:00 About the Role We are seeking to appoint a reliable and motivated Temporary Kitchen Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our client's school kitchen. This fixed-term role offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to the well-being of the pupils by helping to deliver healthy and nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Catering Manager and wider kitchen team to maintain high standards of food preparation, cleanliness, and hygiene. Key Duties and Responsibilities Assisting with the preparation and basic cooking of meals Serving food to pupils and staff during lunch periods Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and dining areas in line with health and safety standards Washing up and assisting with the organisation of kitchen stores Following all food hygiene and school health and safety procedures Requirements: To have a positive attitude and works well within a team Understand the importance of food safety and hygiene To be organised, reliable, and able to work efficiently under time pressures Has previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment Is committed to supporting the school’s ethos and values Must have clear enhanced DBS with children's barred list What We Offer Pay rate £12.21 - £13.00 depending on experience A friendly and supportive working environment Training and induction for the right candidate Regular working hours during school term time The opportunity to gain experience in a school catering setting Apply Now to Vitaly at Select Recruitment
