Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy bar & restaurant. This is a fast-paced, guest-focused role where you’ll be responsible for driving service standards, leading and developing the team, and ensuring a consistently outstanding customer experience. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with a passion for hospitality, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to motivate and inspire others. You’ll be confident managing high volumes, working smart under pressure, and making operational decisions that balance service quality with profitability. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the bar and restaurant team to deliver exceptional guest experiences Drive service standards and maintain a welcoming, upbeat atmosphere Oversee staff recruitment, onboarding, training and rota planning Manage stock levels, ordering, supplier relationships and GP targets Monitor and analyse sales performance, labour costs, and overheads Ensure full compliance with licensing, health & safety, and food hygiene regulations Implement initiatives to grow revenue and repeat business Handle guest feedback professionally and proactively Foster a positive workplace culture that supports teamwork and development About You Proven experience as a General Manager or Senior Assistant Manager in a high-volume hospitality venue Strong leadership and people management skills Commercially aware with experience managing budgets, stock and KPIs Excellent communication and organisational skills Calm under pressure, solution-focused, and confident in decision-making A passion for great service and genuine guest care Personal licence holder (preferred but not essential) Flexible to work evenings, weekends and peak trading periods
