Accountant

Join the finance team at one of Hout Bay’s most exclusive 5-star hotels! We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our luxury property. The ideal candidate will combine strong accounting expertise with a deep understanding of hospitality finance, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial matters. Key Responsibilities: Manage daily accounting functions including accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow. Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and income statements. Monitor budgets, control costs, and ensure financial targets are met. Oversee stock control, procurement reconciliation, and revenue audits. Assist with payroll processing and statutory submissions (VAT, PAYE, UIF). Liaise with department heads to ensure accurate financial reporting. Support the Financial Manager and General Manager with audits and year-end procedures. Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and hospitality regulations. Minimum Requirements: National Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Finance. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a 5-star hotel or hospitality group. Strong knowledge of SAGE / Pastel / Xero and MS Excel. Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and analytical skills. Integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling financial information. Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
