Job Description
Vice President of Development – Mexico & Central America (Aimbridge CALA) Aimbridge is seeking a strategic and results-driven VP of Development – Mexico & Central America to lead the sourcing, negotiation, and execution of new hotel management agreements (HMAs) across Mexico and Central America, including Business Hotels , Full Service Hotels , and Resorts . This role drives Aimbridge’s growth and portfolio expansion in the region. Key Responsibilities Source, qualify, and prioritize HMA opportunities across Mexico and Central America. Build and maintain relationships with developers, investors, lenders, brands (Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Accor, Wyndham, Hard Rock, Meliá), and brokers. Lead the full deal cycle: sourcing, deal shaping, underwriting, internal case building, negotiation, and closing. Coordinate internal teams (Feasibility, Legal, Technical Services, Transitions) to ensure smooth execution. Negotiate HMA terms within approved regional ranges, including fees, performance tests, key money, and working capital mechanics. Represent Aimbridge at industry forums (ALIS CALA, MEXHIC) and targeted roadshows. Maintain CRM pipeline and provide market intelligence to inform regional strategy. Target Outcomes (12–18 months) Sign 8 HMAs , including at least 2 Full Service Hotels and 1 Resort . Improve win rate and reduce deal cycle time. Ensure HMA economics meet or exceed regional benchmarks. Establish owner onboarding cadence and smooth handover to Operations and Transitions. Candidate Profile 10 years hotel development experience in Mexico and Central America with leading operators or global brands. Proven track record in closing complex HMAs and coordinating cross-functional diligence. Strong commercial acumen: fees, performance tests, key money, underwriting, and brand selection. Established regional network: developers, owners, lenders, brands, brokers. Fluent in English and Spanish. Comfortable analyzing feasibility studies, proformas, and sensitivity analyses; advanced Excel required. Travel: 70–80% across the region. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred. Tools: Salesforce preferred; MS Office required. Location & Work Model Mexico City preferred; office attendance required. Travel flexibility aligned with business needs.
