Stock Controller

Overview: The Stock Controller is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels across all lodge departments, including food and beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest amenities. The role ensures that stock is properly received, stored, issued, and recorded according to the lodge’s standards and financial controls. Key Responsibilities: Maintain accurate records of all stock movements (receipts, transfers, and issues). Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile variances with department heads and accounts. Monitor par levels and reorder stock as required to ensure uninterrupted operations. Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and discrepancies. Check and record all goods received for quality, quantity, and accuracy against purchase orders. Ensure all stock areas are well-organized, clean, and compliant with health and safety standards. Manage stock for multiple lodge departments including kitchens, bars, housekeeping, and maintenance. Prepare and submit monthly inventory reports to management and accounts. Implement and enforce stock control procedures to minimize wastage and pilferage. Work closely with the Finance Department on stock valuation and cost control initiatives. Qualifications and Experience: Grade 12 / Matric (essential). Diploma or Certificate in Stock Control, Procurement, or Hospitality Management (advantageous). Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Stock Controller or similar role within a hospitality or lodge environment . Strong knowledge of stock management systems (e.g., GAAP, Micros, Pastel, or similar). Excellent numerical, organizational, and administrative skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping. Ability to work independently and manage multiple departments’ stock needs. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be computer literate (Excel proficiency essential). Valid driver’s license preferred.
