Job Description
Role: Agricultural Sustainability Manager Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 Location: Lacock, Wiltshire Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week We are seeking a Agricultural Sustainability Manager to lead and support the development and delivery of sustainable agriculture initiatives across Stonegate’s integrated and non-integrated supply chains. Acting as a key technical partner to internal teams and external stakeholders, this role will drive forward our sustainability goals, enhance ESG reporting, and contribute to innovation through data-led models and R&D projects. The role requires a strong understanding of agricultural systems and the fundamentals of applied agricultural sustainability. You will be at the forefront of identifying and implementing data-driven mechanisms to improve supply chain sustainability, analysing factors that influence the sustainability of farming systems: carbon emissions, water use, inputs, agronomic practices, and waste drivers. By proactively engaging with farmers, growers, and suppliers, you will identify opportunities for improvement and embed sustainability practices that strengthen agricultural performance and support Stonegate’s wider business strategy. About Stonegate Farmers Ltd Stonegate Farmers Ltd is an integrated free range and organic egg business organised across three divisions comprising farming and agriculture, egg packing and cooked egg processing. Established in 1926 and under new ownership since 2016, we have grown into one the largest free-range and organic egg producers within the UK. Role & Responsibilities: Act as a key partner to the agriculture business unit and customer teams, supporting sustainability across supply chains. Drive progress on sustainable agriculture initiatives. Serve as the primary customer contact for sustainable agriculture matters. Provide technical updates to internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to business development, customer meetings, and proposal writing. Collaborate with the sustainability team to develop data-led sustainability models and metrics. Support ESG reporting requirements in partnership with agriculture and production teams. Assist with agriculture R&D projects. Promote awareness of the total sustainability strategy across agri operations, customers, and supply chain partners. Represent Stonegate at industry events such as panel discussions, and engage with research partners, sustainability consultants, NGOs, customers, and farmers. Qualifications / Experience: Degree in sustainability or agricultural disciplines. Demonstrable relevant experience. Strong understanding of sustainability challenges in agriculture, including: GHG emissions and mitigation Carbon stock and land use Nutrient management Biodiversity impacts Collaborative problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to communicate technical concepts to varied audiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to work independently and within a team. Understanding of environmental models and data analytics
