CJ24-1170 MSG COOK with Security Clearance

Basic Functions Menu planning, grocery shopping, food and beverage preparation, official reception service. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform all food preparation for the day and the following day as well as organize food for detachment consumption. * Cook two (2) additional meals on Friday to ensure there is enough food for the weekend. * Ensure a clean and sanitary cooking area to include the kitchen, open stock, and appliances. * Fill out the cleaning roster for the daily and weekly cleaning duties assigned. * Prior to leaving for the day, collect all dirty dishes and utensils and ensure they are cleaned and placed back in the cabinets. * Assist the Mess NCO in weekly conducting mess runs as needed. * Inform the Mess Manager of any maintenance and upkeep required in the scope of duties. * When Going on Mess Runs the cook will only have to make breakfast and lunch for the day. * Additional special orders directed by the Mess Fund Manager and detachment members. * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Top Secret clearance required. * Higher or secondary special education in food preparation. * Minimum 1 year experience with food preparation including cooking and plating meals. * The ability to carry out tasks quickly and competently * Knowledge of sanitary norms and requirements. * Good knowledge of American, European and Asian cuisines. * Must be a U.S. Citizen.
