We’re looking for a dedicated Ranger to join our countryside team on the Gower Peninsula – the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From dramatic limestone cliffs and golden beaches to ancient woodlands, wetlands, and heathlands, Gower is home to a rich mosaic of habitats and species, attracting visitors from around the world. What it's like to work here Based at the estate office, Rhossili, you’ll work across Gower alongside the Area Ranger and a committed team of volunteers. You’ll help care for and enhance this special landscape, ensuring it remains a place where nature thrives and people feel welcome. You’ll be part of a supportive and enthusiastic team, working in one of the most iconic landscapes in Wales. This is a chance to make a real impact – protecting nature, connecting people, and helping shape the future of Gower. The role will involve lone working at times, and occasional weekend working as required to support events, volunteer activities, and seasonal priorities. What you'll be doing You'll be responsible for practical habitat and access management across a range of sites. You'll contribute to monitoring and reporting on conservation outcomes. This often involves lone working in remote areas with appropriate safety protocols. You'll engage with visitors to promote responsible access and nature conservation, as well as working closely with local communities and partners to support collaborative projects.
