SHIFT ALA - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Alabama) A BRIEF OVERVIEW The CMM Programmer provides quality support to engineering and production through advanced Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming and inspection. Works effectively with engineers, inspectors, supervisors and production personnel to resolve quality issues, achieve team objectives and promote quality principles. WHAT YOU WILL DO Writes and maintains CMM programs based on customer and company specifications. Troubleshoots and contacts outside technical support services for CMM software as needed. Assists engineers with qualification and validation of new or changed tooling or parts. Prepares detailed inspection documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results including deviations from engineering specifications. Writes, updates and improves quality procedures as required. Performs testing and inspection at various stages of production, visual and dimensional inspection Ensures customer specifications and quality standards are met Tests and inspects at various product stages during production for defects, such as scratches, burrs, surface finish, and dimensional variances. Notifies Leads and other parties of production issues and assists with identifying and correcting problems in a timely manner Trains personnel and instructs and provides direction to other employees on most efficient use of equipment Quarantines non-conforming parts Completes necessary paperwork to fulfill customer requirements and quality requirements, e.g. recording test data, recording quantities inspected EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS Associates (Preferred) High School Or Equivalent (Required) EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS 2 Years of experience in quality inspection (Required) 3 Years of Experience Operating/Programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and Other Inspection Methodologies (Preferred) KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS THAT ENABLE SUCCESS Programming - Basic Knowledge GD&T - Working Experience Quality Inspection Metrology Tools - Working Experience Quality Management - Working Experience Accuracy and Attention to Detail - Extensive Experience ISO 9001 (Quality Management) - Basic Knowledge PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to remain in a stationary position - Frequently Must be able to move about the inside of the building - Frequently Must be able to position oneself and move under/around/over equipment - Occasionally Must be able to handle/adjust/inspect/position various items and equipment - Constantly Must be able to communicate and exchange information with others - Occasionally Must be able to perform tasks that require repetitive handling/adjusting/inspecting/positioning of items and equipment - Frequently Must be able to distinguish and detect information such as writing and defects - Constantly WORKING CONDITIONS Noise - Occasionally WHAT WE OFFER Opportunity to work in a growing company Ability to help people live a longer, more active life Comprehensive benefit package Ability to work in an organization that values: Integrity First: We do the right thing Teamwork: We are one Orchid Results: Our results matter ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Candidates offered employment may be required to submit to a pre-employment background check and pre-employment drug-screening based on position requirements Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time Candidates must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States through eVerify At Orchid, we fully support a diverse and inclusive workplace and we are an equal opportunity employer.
