Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technology Specialty: Imaging Duration: Full-time Shift: Sun-Thursday 3P-11P Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Required License: NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit Certifications: ARRT registered (RT), BLS certification through AHA Must-Have: Certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT), MRI safety certification level 2 Description: Performs routine and some special procedure imaging. Prepares patients for procedures. Assists radiologists when needed. Prepares, operates, and cares for the equipment being used. Adheres to established standards of care. Pursues appropriate continuing education. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties. Adheres to established customer service programs. Performs other duties as assigned, such as quality assurance. Exercises professional judgment in performance of procedures. Provides patient care. Understands and adheres to performance standards, policies, and behaviors. Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing requirements for each protocol. Assumes responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures and produces quality images. Assists physicians during procedures as necessary. Performs quality assurance and calibrations as needed. Will be required to work in case of emergency procedures. Maintains cleanliness of all areas, equipment, and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor. Prints patient CDs if needed. Performs routine office duties, such as answering phones and utilizing EMR and PACS systems. Notifies front desk staff upon exam completion. Shows images to radiologists and documents communication if necessary. May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor. Introduces themselves and educates each patient or family member regarding the examination. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in providing care based on age and physical and psychosocial stature of patient populations. Attends staff meetings and in-services. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
