About Our Client Our client is a leading civil contractor with expertise in residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Location: Vancouver Island, BC (Nanaimo, Victoria, Parksville), NOT Remote Compensation details: Base Salary: $100,000 - $130,000, DOE Benefits: Premiums fully paid; Day 1 coverage 5% RRSP Matching Relocation Assistance Main duties: Lead & coordinate the estimating team to prepare accurate project budgets and estimates. Manage resources, including software and personnel, for estimating functions. Collaborate with the General Contracting Division on deliverables, bid formats, and budget tools. Prepare bid estimates using estimating software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations. Determine which projects to proceed with bidding, considering market conditions. Assign team responsibilities and ensure project scopes are fully understood. Identify and assess potential project risks. Mentor and support estimators and project coordinators. Prepare bid instructions and maintain the flow of project information Requirements: 5 years of estimating experience in residential, commercial, or institutional construction. Commercial or Civil estimating experience Proven success in estimating across diverse project types. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Proficient in Microsoft Office Heavy Bid software experience is a plus. Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
