Job Description Job Description Activity Assistant Chelsea Jewish Lifecare / Shapiro-Rudolph Adult Day Health Center Schedule: This position will be 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9:30am-2:30pm. Eligible for benefits. Comfort with driving the Adult Day Center minivan for community outings is required. Responsibilities: • Lead activity programming for a diverse population while keeping participants engaged. • Assist the Activity Director in developing and coordinating a successful activities program. • Provide appropriate activity programs that meet the physical, social, cultural, spiritual, emotional and recreational needs and interests of each participant. • Drive participants on scheduled community outings in a safe manner using the Adult Day Center vehicle. • Assist in meeting participant's other needs, e.g. toileting, transfers, meal service. • Other duties/projects as assigned by the Activity Director. Qualifications: • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. • Ability to read, write and speak the English language. • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and squat for prolonged periods. • Ability to push, pull objects and lift/carry up to 20 pounds unassisted on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds or more with assistance on occasion. • Ability to interact effectively with clients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, the general public and other staff members.
