Position Details Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM) Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends On-Call Requirement: Yes – up to 2 weekend call shifts every 4 weeks Float Requirement: Within scope and between like units/sister facilities as needed Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off up to 1 shift every 2 weeks (can be broken down to equal 1 shift total) Experience & Case Mix Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in the Operating Room Highly Preferred Experience: Neuro (spine and crani) ENT (flaps) Robotics (DaVinci Xi) Common Case Types: Ortho (total joints, spine, trauma), Neuro, ENT, Robotics, Transplants/Procurements, Trauma/Burns, GU/GYN First-Time Travelers Accepted: ✅ Yes Certifications & Requirements Required Certifications: NBSTSA (MUSC does not accept NCCT) BLS Trauma Level: Level I Facility Highlights Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital Total Staffed Beds: 820 Operating Rooms: 21 suites supporting Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics Team Composition: 75% RNs / 25% CSTs Environment: Nurse-driven, Magnet-designated, and technology-forward Scrub Color: Provided by facility Charting System: EPIC Additional Details Block Scheduling: May be considered with manager approval (based on unit needs) Local Radius: 60 miles Locals Accepted: Yes RTO Policy: All time-off requests must be submitted with application; approval based on facility needs Parking: Managed by Parking Office (91 Presidents Street) $20 one-time registration fee for hang tag (garage access only) Additional parking outside garage may incur extra fees Important Note – Hurricane Season Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November, with peak activity in August–September), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams as needed.
