Electrical Estimator

We’re recruiting an Electrical Estimator for a respected UK electrical contractor delivering commercial, hospitality and planned maintenance projects. You’ll produce accurate take-offs and competitive tenders, support value engineering, and work closely with delivery teams from pre-con through handover. Key Responsibilities * Interpret drawings/specs to prepare quantities, BOQs and labour/material build-ups. * Source and assess supplier/subcontractor quotes; maintain price libraries. * Prepare compliant tender submissions, clarifications and outline programmes. * Propose value-engineering options (lighting/emergency lighting, containment, LV distribution, fire & security, data/structured cabling). * Attend site surveys and client/consultant meetings as required; compile handover packs. * Support small-works and planned maintenance pricing (EICR, emergency lighting tests, fire alarm testing, PAT). About You * 3 years’ estimating experience with an electrical contractor (commercial/ hospitality focus). * Strong technical grasp of LV distribution, containment, small power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire & security, CCTV, data. * Advanced Excel/estimating tools; clear written proposals and good commercial acumen. * Advantageous – Ensign estimating systems coherent – desirable * Qualifications: Time-served electrician or HNC/HND (or similar). 18th Edition (BS 7671) essential; C&G 2391 desirable. * Confident communicator with suppliers and clients; diligent on compliance and H&S.
