Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Freelance) Location: Central London Contract Type: Freelance Project: Hotel Start Date: ASAP About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join an established consultancy on a freelance basis, working on a high-profile hotel project in Central London. You will be responsible for leading the electrical design process from concept to completion, ensuring all designs meet project specifications, technical standards, and client expectations. Key Responsibilities Lead electrical design development from concept through detailed design stages. Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain design integrity. Produce detailed calculations using industry-standard software (Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and in-house tools). Provide technical guidance and resolve design challenges efficiently. Review and approve drawings, specifications, and technical submissions. Support project delivery with a strong focus on quality, safety, and cost efficiency. Requirements Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer on hotel or mixed-use development projects. Strong knowledge of RIBA Stages 4 and 5 design. Previous experience working with or for a Main Contractor is highly advantageous. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
