Location: Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen Duration: Supply/Casual/Relief R oles that require PVG Membership Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023 , where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership . This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above . (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £ 15.97 per hour) The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members , and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment. job purpose/about the role Beach Ballroom is seeking a casual AV technician to join our Operations Team at the Ballroom. The AV technician will exemplify a passion for Hospitality, Events and AV technology along with being a proponent of cultivating a positive and inclusive employee culture. In this role, the AV Technician will partner with and report directly to the Senior Technician and Duty Manager. The post holder needs to hold as a minimum: Holds an appropriate Technical qualification or is working towards one Full UK Driving Licence (desirable) Educated to a standard grade level The AV Technician provides and supports all services used to deliver technology to our customers and associates, including networking, desktop support, audio, video, audio & video conferencing, webcasting and lighting for different types of meetings and events. The AV Technician works closely with customers and the AV management Team to deliver an excellent meeting, conference and working experience. The person in this role also works directly with other Ballroom staff to deliver excellent client experiences. The postholder is able to demonstrate: Experience in stage related technical work. Experience in lighting control, sound control and stage management. Experience in working at heights or in confined spaces. Working knowledge of basic computer packages. Good verbal and written communication. Provide ad-hoc troubleshooting and assistance to customers of all competency levels. Troubleshoot AV equipment, including but not limited to audio, video, lighting, computer systems and hardware. Evaluation and troubleshooting of personal computer hardware and software, peripheral devices, mobile devices and component problems. Pre-program coordination with Ballroom staff and the AV Senior Technician and the ballroom manager, ensuring that all their technological needs are met and in place for their arrival. Provide genuine anticipatory customer service by establishing good working relationships with team members. Attend Pre-production meetings as needed. Support day to day floor operations, including set and strike, operating in room equipment facilitating and supporting other AV functions. Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and assist with any reasonable requests during programs. Interact with Production team to ensure a thorough understanding of the client experience prior to the start of their meeting/event. Assist in all areas of daily operation.
