ER RN Job Details – Durham, NC Location: Durham, North Carolina (27710) Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Unit: Internal Staffing Resource Pool – Emergency Department Start Date: December 1, 2025 End Date: March 2, 2026 Duration: 13-week contract Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30) Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910 Patient Ratio: 1:4 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Floating: May float to ED observation unit Scrubs: Royal Blue Orientation: Bi-weekly Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions) Emergency Room Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission) Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, CPI Proficiency with Epic charting system Trauma Level II experience required; Level I experience preferred Experience caring for neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics 1 supervisory reference within the last year required Flu vaccine required (no exemptions or declinations accepted) ER RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations Manage a 1:4 patient ratio in a busy Emergency Department Perform acute interventions: arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management Respond to trauma cases, medical emergencies, and psychiatric crises Administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and paralytics Interpret ABGs, dysrhythmias, and manage multisystem organ dysfunction/failure Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and interpretation services Accurately document patient care and interventions using Epic EMR Float to ED observation unit as needed Comply with infection control and isolation precautions Discover rewarding travel nursing jobs in Durham, North Carolina—where your emergency nursing skills make a difference every day.
