Travel Nursing Job Details Location: Wilmington, NC 28401 (North Carolina nursing jobs) Assignment Length: 13–26 weeks (flexible travel contract) Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15) Hours per Week: 36 or 48 hours accepted Unit: Orthopedic Trauma/General Surgery (Med/Surg RN jobs) Patient Ratio: 1:6–7 Start Date: November 24, 2025 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Orientation: 12-hour unit orientation, 16-hour organizational education Scrubs: Navy Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,700 - $1,750 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact State; must be in hand by start date) Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience within the last 5 years BLS certification required Epic EMR documentation experience required Proficiency in heparin drips, PCA management, colostomy care, feeding tube care, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts, and wound care Experience with dysrhythmia management, O2 protocol, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic trauma, surgical drains, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac), nasal cannula, oral suctioning, tracheostomy management Must pass EKG testing prior to start Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required First-time travel nurses accepted Preferred Nursing Qualifications ACLS certification Experience with interpretation of dysrhythmias, pre/post hemodialysis management, management of drips, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injuries Med/Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with orthopedic trauma, general surgery, and neurological injuries Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform phlebotomy Monitor and manage surgical drains, chest tubes, and tracheostomies Provide wound care and support for patients with feeding tubes and colostomies Document patient care using Epic EMR Float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed Participate in storm/hurricane response teams if required Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and more Maintain compliance with all safety and infection control protocols Why Choose Wilmington, NC?
