Cardio-Thoracic Surgery - Physician at IU Health Medical Group - Indiana University Health summary: The Indiana University Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery seeks a full-time Cardiovascular Surgeon with fellowship training in Aortic Surgery to perform advanced adult cardiovascular surgeries and participate in teaching and research. The role involves collaborative practice contributions, patient care, resident education, and scholarly activities within a major regional referral and academic health center. The ideal candidate is board-certified, licensed in Indiana, and committed to innovation and leadership in cardiothoracic surgery. The Indiana University Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery in conjunction with IU Health Medical Group, invites applications for a full-time Cardiovascular Surgeon with Fellowship training in Aortic Surgery to join our highly skilled multidisciplinary team in the Indianapolis Metro Region.Applicants should have experience in teaching residents and fellows, and passion for caring for complex cardiovascular patients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing advanced adult cardiovascular surgical operations including complex coronary revascularization, valve repair and replacement, aortic aneurysm and dissection, and transcatheter procedures. They will support and contribute to a growing practice with highly collaborative and interdependent quality systems in place for successful patient outcomes. This is a full-time faculty position; salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience. Job Duties: Provide patient care in Cardiovascular Surgery and Thoracic Aortic Surgery. Support and contribute to a growing collaborative Academic practice, Cardiovascular Institute and the Mission of Indiana University Health and School of Medicine. Participate in scholarly activity, resident education, and system-wide quality initiatives. Basic Qualifications Preferred Candidates will: Have an MD/DO and be Board-Certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery Have completed a general surgery residency program and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship OR integrated residency program, AND additional specialty training in Aortic Surgery and Transcatheter Aortic Procedures.Applicants should have a minimum of two years of employment experience following completion of training.
