Medical Surgical RN Job Details Location: Rome, NY 13440 (Central New York nursing jobs) Assignment Type: Travel Nursing – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed) Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/10/2025 – End: 2/7/2026) Floating: Required to Medical Surgical unit as needed Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday required (limited holiday time-off accepted) Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,990–$2,130 per week Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience (strong cardiac skills considered) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications NIH Stroke Certification (required prior to start) Strong IV skills and experience with cardiac drips Proficient in reading EKG strips and performing wound care Completion of 8 hours of CEUs as part of facility orientation Flu vaccine or declination accepted (mask required if declining) Travel nursing experience preferred Med/Surg RN Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to Medical Surgical and Telemetry patients Monitor and manage cardiac drips, interpret EKG strips, and deliver comprehensive wound care Float to Medical Surgical unit as required to support patient care needs Maintain accurate patient records and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams Adhere to facility protocols, including completion of required CEUs and certifications Work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled Join our dedicated healthcare team in Rome, NY and make a meaningful impact as a travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse.
