PCU RN Job Details Job Title: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Travel Assignment Location: Louisville, KY 40202 Assignment Type: Travel nursing job Start Date: November 24, 2025 End Date: February 23, 2026 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (16-hour night shifts) Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed (32–36 hours/week) Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1800 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: Minimum 1 holiday shift Float Requirement: Float to Med Surg or PCU units as needed Dress Code: Galaxy blue tops; galaxy blue or black pants PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Kentucky RN license or compact state nursing license Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac PCU nursing experience Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications Proficient in IV insertion, telemetry/dysrhythmia monitoring, and 12-lead EKG Experience caring for 4–5 patient intermediate teams Preferred: PCCN certification, pre/post Cath Lab experience, sheath pull experience Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical skills PCU RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac recovery patients in a 14-bed Progressive Care Unit Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and rhythms Perform IV insertions and manage cardiac drips and interventions Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans Float to Medical Surgical or other PCU units as required Document patient care using Cerner EMR system Maintain a safe, supportive, and patient-centered environment Why Choose Louisville, KY for Your Next Nursing Job?
