Job Description Job Description We are a fine dining establishment with and expectation of white glove service As an Expeditor, you are responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of food from the kitchen to the dining area. You will be responsible for coordinating the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring that they meet quality standards, and delivering them promptly to guests. Your role is crucial in maintaining a smooth operation in the kitchen and delivering exceptional dining experiences. You are responsible for ensuring what leaves the kitchen meets all of the guests expectations and is properly prepared and presented. Reporting Structure Reports to the Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef or Executive Chef Day to Day Oversee the expediting process during meal periods, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of dishes to members and guests. Coordinate with kitchen staff to manage the timing and presentation of dishes according to the order tickets. Check each dish for quality, portioning, and presentation before it leaves the kitchen. Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless coordination between the kitchen and dining areas. Monitor the quality of food being prepared, ensuring it meets the restaurant's standards for taste, appearance, temperature and portion size. Address and resolve any issues with food quality or presentation promptly, working with the kitchen team to make necessary adjustments. Ensure all dishes are prepared according to special requests or dietary restrictions as specified by guests. Keep the expediting area organized and clean, ensuring that all necessary tools and equipment are readily available. Assist with maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas as needed. Manage the organization of order tickets and ensure they are processed efficiently. Maintain clear and effective communication with chefs, cooks, and servers to ensure efficient service. Assist in training new kitchen and service staff on expediting procedures and quality standards. Collaborate with the team to ensure all orders are fulfilled accurately and in a timely manner. Interact professionally with members and guests, accommodating changes and last-minute requests as needed. Support fellow employees and contribute to a positive team environment. Be proactive in assisting members and guests ensuring delivery of the 3-steps of service. Address and resolve member and guest complaints professionally, notifying management of issues and practicing effective service recovery. Complete additional duties as assigned by management. Additional Duties Due to the dynamic nature of the restaurant, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management. Follow all company and department policies, procedures, and instructions. Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with guests, colleagues, and staff. Follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same. Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role. Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team’s success. Wear a clean, neat uniform that meets restaurant standards. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 1 year of experience as an expeditor or in a similar role. Strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality and presentation standards. Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods. Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments, with potential exposure to dust, fumes, or gases. Capable of climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and folding/unfolding as required. Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs. occasionally. Effective communication skills, including talking and hearing, with sufficient visual acuity. Primary Tools/Equipment Kitchen knives (1-5 lbs.) Pots, pans, and other food storage containers (5 - 50 lbs.) Work Schedule Attendance requirements for this position as outlined on the weekly schedule. Additional hours are required to meet deadlines of the position, including weekends and/or holidays.
