General Manager – Boutique Hotel | Franschhoek Location: Franschhoek, Western Cape Salary: R25,000 – R30,000 (Negotiable, DOE) – Live-out only Accommodation: Not provided – candidates must already reside in Franschhoek or nearby areas Position Overview A boutique hotel in Franschhoek is seeking a hands-on and highly experienced General Manager to lead its operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in managing boutique hotels or guesthouses, with strong financial acumen, excellent guest relations, and the ability to drive revenue and uphold 4–5 star service standards. ✅ Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring seamless guest experiences and exceptional service standards. Provide strong leadership, motivating and mentoring the team to achieve operational excellence. Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting with a strong focus on cost control and revenue growth. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hospitality regulations. Build and maintain strong guest relationships, handling feedback and service recovery with professionalism. Implement and monitor SOPs to uphold luxury standards across all departments. Drive occupancy, revenue, and profitability through effective sales and marketing initiatives. Report directly to the owners with regular operational updates and proposals for improvements. Candidate Requirements Minimum 2 years’ proven management experience running a boutique hotel or guesthouse (4* required, 5* experience advantageous). Excellent guest relations and communication skills. Strong financial and administrative background, with proven experience in budgeting and revenue management. Hands-on, approachable leader with the ability to manage small, close-knit teams. Highly organised and proactive, with an eye for detail.
