Hospitality Technician Location: Trowbridge Salary: £18,849 per annum rising to £19,244 per annum, pro rata of the full time equivalent (FTE) £24,331 per annum rising to £24,841 per annum Wiltshire College & University Centre have an exciting opportunity for a Hospitality Technician to join our team. Hospitality Technician – The Role: We are looking for a proactive and organised Hospitality Technician to join our dedicated Hospitality and Catering team at Wiltshire College & University Centre. You will play a vital role in supporting both staff and students within our professional kitchens and restaurant environments, ensuring that equipment, materials, and resources are available and well-maintained to enhance the student learning experience. This is a hands-on role that blends technical know-how, teamwork, and creativity — perfect for someone who enjoys practical work and thrives in a fast-paced educational environment. Hospitality Technician – Key Responsibilities: What you will be doing: * Oversee the daily operation, cleanliness, and organisation of kitchens and the restaurant. * Manage stock levels, supplier relationships, and uniform provision for learners. * Maintain accurate inventories, records, and budgets in line with college procedures. * Support restaurant marketing, bookings, and daily banking activities. * Ensure all equipment and facilities meet health, safety, and hygiene standards. * Complete risk assessments and maintain NCASS and compliance documentation. * Coordinate annual maintenance (e.g. gas servicing, PAT testing, refrigeration). * Lead kitchen cleaning schedules and manage end-of-year deep cleans and re-opening. * Organise trips, events, and additional training activities for students. * Monitor student attendance and support engagement where required. * Supervise and manage the kitchen porter on a daily basis. Hospitality Technician – You: We are looking for someone with: * Practical experience in catering, hospitality, or a similar technical field. * A good understanding of kitchen equipment and safety standards. * Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. * A proactive, supportive, and student-focused approach. * Confidence using and maintaining tools, machinery, and materials. * A team player who takes pride in creating a safe, professional, and inspiring workspace. (Experience in an educational environment is an advantage but not essential — full training will be provided.)
