Job Description

Mechanical and Electrical Estimator Location: Northampton Contract: Permanent Smart City Recruiters are working with a client in the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Sectors, working on installations within large scale residential, student accommodation and hotel projects. Our client is looking to recruit 2 experienced Mechanical Estimators to join their highly successful pre-contract team reporting to the Mechanical Estimating Manager. You would be responsible for the following: Production of detailed tender bids and cost plans Attending mid and post tender meetings Post tender control Interfacing with both our existing and prospective new clients Communication and interfacing with sub-contractor and supplier companies, using existing companies and generating new leads The position will involve the day-to-day management of the tender process to ensure standards are maintained and deadlines are met. Whilst mechanically biased, the position also demands a wide knowledge of electrical engineering services. You will need to demonstrate a broad knowledge of the industry and will have experience in a wide range of sectors, specifically including residential, hotel and student accommodation projects. This is a permanent, office-based position with strong career prospects. Requirements Pro-active and approachable Lead by example Comprehensive technical knowledge of all aspects of Mechanical building services Thorough and efficient Wide supplier and sub-contractor knowledge Understanding of associated electrical services Commercial acumen to ensure tenders are financially sound Flexible in approach to deadlines Computer literate with experience of “Trimble Estimation” software Issuing supply chain enquiries via electronic platforms Issuing/updating tender documents via an electronic control system Willing and able to work as part of a team with personal skills to promote good relationships and a friendly working environment Ensuring quality standards are maintained in accordance with company QA policies Working in an integrated M&E team Package includes Competitive salary 25 days holiday (up to 30 days with service) plus bank holidays Company car scheme Private healthcare scheme and life insurance Pension scheme with 5.5% employer contribution Enhanced maternity and adoption policy – 13 weeks full pay followed by 26 weeks at SMP Enhanced paternity policy – 2 weeks full pay (available as consecutive weeks or flexible instalments) Employee-owned business Flexible holiday scheme
