Estimated Weekly Salary Weekly Salary Range: $1,880 - $2,020 per week Travel Nursing Job Details Location: Waterloo, Iowa (50703) – Iowa nursing jobs Facility: Surgical/Med-Surg Telemetry Unit Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Start Date: December 10, 2025 End Date: March 11, 2026 Duration: 13-week contract Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week Hours per Week: 36 Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend, holiday rotation required Unit Size: 28 beds Patient Ratio: 1:5 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Iowa RN license required Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg, PACU, or post-operative care nursing experience Previous travel nursing contract within the last 12 months (no first-time travelers) Proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips Experience caring for post-operative surgical patients (general, thoracic, vascular, urology, gynecology, orthopedics, podiatry) Skilled with PCA pumps, epidurals, chest tubes, and CBIs BLS certification (AHA) required Ability to pass cardiac dysrhythmia identification test and annual educational module Submission of work history/resume, skills checklist (completed within 1 year), license verification, required certifications, and references Proof of taxable address (driver's license or current utility bill) Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities Provide professional nursing care to post-operative surgical patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting Monitor and interpret telemetry strips for cardiac patients Administer and manage cardiac drips (heparin, insulin, amiodarone, cardizem) and other medications Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes Float to other Med/Surg units as needed, including Behavioral Health and Emergency Department Participate in required holiday and weekend rotations Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR Complete on-site training and annual competency modules Apply now to join our healthcare team in Waterloo, Iowa, and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
