Line Chef

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Line Chef to join our dynamic team at our well-established restaurant located just outside Wellington. The ideal candidate must have a strong culinary background, excellent team collaboration skills, and a commitment to delivering consistent quality dishes while maintaining kitchen standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare and present dishes according to standard recipes and portion control guidelines Assist in prepping ingredients and ensuring stations are fully stocked and ready for service Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to hygiene and safety standards Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with kitchen duties as required Ensure all meals are served to the highest quality and consistency Participate in daily kitchen operations including receiving, storing, and rotating stock Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods Assist in minimising food wastage and controlling food costs Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house team members Follow all opening and closing procedures for kitchen stations Required Skills & Experience Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Line Chef in a busy kitchen environment Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen hygiene, and food safety practices Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and able to take initiative Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written) Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within the kitchen team Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends, public holidays, and evenings Other Requirements Must reside in or near Wellington, or have reliable daily transport Preference will be given to candidates living locally What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Opportunity to work in a professional, customer-focused kitchen environment Potential for growth and development within the culinary team If you are passionate about food and take pride in delivering quality, we would love to hear from you.
