Network Engineer Apprenticeship

As a Network Engineer Apprentice, you'll be part of a forward-thinking team that supports a wide range of industries, including hospitality, education, and professional services. You'll gain real-world experience setting up and maintaining networks, troubleshooting issues, and delivering great customer support. No two days are the same; one day you might be configuring devices, and the next you could be assisting with exciting new IT projects. We'll give you the tools, guidance, and hands-on training to develop your technical skills and build your confidence. You'll work alongside experienced engineers who will support you every step of the way as you learn about networking, cybersecurity, cloud systems, and more. In this role, you'll work towards your Level 4 Network Engineer qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships. A Typical Day in the Job: Assist in the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks. Support network installations, upgrades, and migrations for clients under supervision. Monitor network performance and respond promptly to alerts to ensure system uptime and reliability. Help implement and maintain network security measures, including firewall rules and access policies. Accurately document network configurations, system changes, and troubleshooting activities. Provide first-line technical support to clients and manage the full lifecycle of support requests. Collaborate with senior engineers on project work and technical problem-solving. Participate in ongoing technical training and certification programs to develop professional skills. Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships. Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in a clear and friendly way. Able to work independently, manage time well, and stay organized in a busy environment. Shows initiative and a strong interest in solving technical problems. Professional attitude and positive approach to work. Committed to providing great customer service and support. Willing to learn and take part in training to build technical skills. Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking. Knowledge of Windows systems, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and basic networking. Grade 4 in GCSE Mathematics & Grade 5 in GCSE English Salary, Hours&Benefits: £20,000 - £24,000 per annum. 9am-5pm Monday to Friday This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we'll support you to take the next steps.
