Lawyer – EV Projects (Legal Services Team) West Midlands area (with hybrid flexibility) £60,000–£70,000 benefits About the Role My client, a leading UK business operating within the travel, leisure, and hospitality infrastructure sector , is seeking an experienced Lawyer specialising in Electric Vehicle (EV) projects to join their in-house Legal Services Team . This is a strategic and hands-on position , supporting the Director of Legal Services and collaborating closely with the EV, ESG, and Renewables teams to ensure the successful rollout of the company’s national EV charging infrastructure programme . The successful candidate will lead on all EV-related legal activities , including landlord negotiations on leases, grid connection agreements, and coordination with DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs, landlords, CPOs, and other key stakeholders such as National Highways. You’ll play a central role in ensuring projects are delivered compliantly, commercially, and on schedule across a complex stakeholder landscape. Key Responsibilities Manage and lead legal workstreams for multiple EV charging and infrastructure projects . Draft, review, and negotiate leases, wayleaves, grid connection agreements , and related commercial contracts. Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to internal teams and external partners. Identify and resolve title, access, consent , and other potential site or regulatory issues affecting project delivery. Collaborate with stakeholders to align commercial and legal interests, unlocking constraints where needed. Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with evolving legislation and market standards. Promote the company’s ESG objectives and uphold its core values of being committed, expert, and transparent . Maintain accurate case management, time recording, and KPI performance records. Support the Director of Legal Services in process improvement, quality standards , and strategic initiatives. Where appropriate, mentor colleagues and contribute to a culture of professional development. Candidate Profile Qualified Lawyer (minimum 3 years PQE) in England & Wales and/or Scotland. Demonstrable experience in EV, energy, or infrastructure law , ideally with exposure to commercial property transactions. Strong understanding of landlord and tenant law , planning , and energy regulation . Commercially astute, with the ability to balance risk and opportunity across complex agreements. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills with a client-focused approach. Capable of working autonomously while collaborating effectively across teams and departments. Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK as required. Benefits Salary up to £60,000-£70,000 , dependent on experience.
