Family Assistant / Household Assistant

About the Role A professional and welcoming household based in Geelong are recruiting a Family Assistant. With busy schedules and school-aged children, this family is seeking a reliable, organised, and adaptable Family Assistant / Household Assistant to help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home. This full-time role offers variety and meaningful work — combining light housekeeping, personal assistant tasks, and occasional support with children. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, takes initiative, and thrives in a structured yet flexible environment. Key Responsibilities Household Support General tidying and laundry (including ironing and managing dry cleaning) Light cleaning (dusting, dishes, beds, wiping surfaces) Grocery shopping and errands Household organisation (pantry, cupboards, shared spaces) Managing household supplies and stock Light meal preparation or cooking Pet care as needed (walks, vet appointments, feeding) Coordinating car servicing or cleaning Arranging household maintenance and trades Personal Assistant Tasks Calendar and appointment management Sending emails or messages on behalf of the household Online shopping, orders, and returns Coordinating service providers Booking travel, events, or activities ‍‍ Family Support School pickups and occasional drop-offs (driver’s licence and own vehicle required) Supervision of children after school as needed Preparing afternoon snacks or dinner Supporting routines and extracurricular activities About You You are someone who is: Highly organised, proactive, and dependable Calm, kind, and comfortable around children A confident communicator (written and verbal) Tech-savvy and efficient with scheduling, apps, and online tasks Able to manage your time well and work independently Requirements Experience in a similar role (e.g., housekeeping, nannying, personal/family assistant) Current driver’s licence and own vehicle (mileage reimbursed) Police Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain) Full Australian working rights Hours & Pay Monday to Friday, with some flexibility and occasional weekend work Hours tailored for the right person Competitive hourly rate based on experience Apply Now If you're a supportive, organised individual who enjoys helping a household run smoothly, we’d love to hear from you.
