Med/Surg RN Job Details Location: Smyrna, TN 37167 (Greater Nashville Area) Healthcare Setting: Main Hospital – Medical-Surgical & Ortho/Spine Unit Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 8/12/2025 – End: 11/11/2025) Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Hours per Week: 36 Unit Size: 54 beds, including 11 ortho/spine beds Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 for Registered Nurses Flexible Scheduling: At least one weekend per 4-week period; blocked scheduling considered Estimated Weekly Salary: $1630 - $1750 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state BLS certification (ACLS preferred) Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment Excellent teamwork and communication skills Punctual, organized, and detail-oriented Grey scrubs required Med/Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to diverse medical-surgical patients, including orthopedic, spine, trauma, and psych medical hold cases Conduct thorough patient assessments and accurate documentation using Meditech Operate advanced clinical equipment: Alaris pumps, remote telemetry, wound vacs, specialty beds, chest tubes, NG/feeding tubes, bladder scanners, and more Collaborate with RN/LPN teams, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), techs, and externs Assist with general medical/surgical procedures, post-catheterizations, laparoscopic appendectomy/cholecystectomy, thoracentesis/paracentesis, hemodialysis/peritoneal dialysis, and more Float within the unit as needed to support patient care Promote a positive patient experience and uphold hospital policies and unit guidelines Why Choose Smyrna, TN for Your Next Travel Nursing Job?
