Job Description

Position Overview As CFO you will be a valuable strategic partner to the CEO and Board, responsible for overseeing all financial operations and guiding the company’s financial strategy to support sustainable growth. You will maintain high standards of financial reporting, compliance, and governance in line with ASX requirements while also supporting commercial outcomes across the business. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Strategic Leadership Partner with the CEO and Board to shape and execute the company’s strategic direction. Provide valuable financial insights and recommendations that enhance profitability and growth. Oversee financial operations including accounting, FP&A, treasury (incl FX Hedging), tax and compliance (including an operating NZ based entity). Working with external service providers, provide information required to prepare and maximise the Digital Games Tax Offset Claim on an annual basis. Lead budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning processes. Ensure timely, accurate and compliant financial reporting under ASX obligations. Manage external audits and maintain strong relationships with auditors. ASX Compliance & Investor Relations Work closely with the CEO to meet ASX disclosure obligations, as well as prepare investor presentations and market updates. Build and maintain strong relationships with shareholders, analysts, and key external stakeholders. Manage Company Secretarial duties including ASX lodgements, ASIC filings, coordination of Annual Board Meeting & Financial Reporting Calendar. Manage the Risk Management elements of the business including maintenance of the Risk Management Framework and coordination of the Annual Insurance Renewal process. Commercial & Operational Finance Assess and optimise revenue models across games and platforms. Support studio and Publishing teams with financial analysis to inform decision‑making on game development, marketing, and partnerships. Leadership & Culture Lead and develop a high‑performing Finance team. Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors and Leadership team. Specific Attributes, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Proven experience as a CFO, Financial Controller or equivalent in an ASX‑listed environment or large private company. Strong understanding of ASX Listing Rules, ASIC requirements and continuous disclosure obligations. Company Secretary experience would be desirable. Background in video game development, entertainment, technology or digital industries highly regarded. CPA/CA or equivalent professional qualification. Demonstrated success in scaling finance functions within high‑growth businesses. Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills. What We Offer Here at PlaySide!
