Job Description
Executive Contract Officer 2 – Remuneration Package $247,170 Finance and Asset Services Darwin An Executive contract of up to 4 years may be offered. Apply your extensive knowledge and experience in accounting, financial strategy and risk management to shape the strategic direction of the agency. The Department of Corporate and Digital Development (DCDD) provides essential corporate functions to the Northern Territory Government (NTG), efficiently and effectively enabling agencies to focus on their core business. As Chief Finance Officer you are a key member of the executive leadership team, providing leadership and oversight of financial strategy across the agency and two government business divisions, Data Centre Services and NT Fleet. Your key duties will include providing professional, timely and accurate advice to the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executives, senior directors and other key stakeholders on financial strategy and existing and emerging financial risks to support strategic decision‑making and responses. Utilising your extensive technical expertise in accounting, statutory reporting, budget development, and financial management, you play a key role in maintaining financial stewardship and governance. Your focus on pricing models, policy formulation, and fostering a culture of responsible financial management drives continuous improvement within the organisation. To excel in this role, you must possess a strong foundation in accounting and statutory reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis, supported by tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, or business. Additionally, eligibility for full membership in a recognised accounting body is essential. Your executive‑level interpersonal skills, communication abilities, and report writing proficiency are vital in developing high‑performing finance teams and establishing valuable networks with stakeholders.
