NHS Cook – Newcastle Location: Newcastle Start Date: ASAP Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 Pay Rate: £12.91 per hour (PAYE, excluding holiday pay) Contract: Ongoing Role Overview Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Cook to join the NHS catering team in Newcastle. This is a great opportunity to play a vital role in patient care by preparing nutritious meals in a healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to NHS dietary guidelines and patient requirements. Ensure all food is prepared safely and hygienically, following food safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area. Assist with menu planning and stock control. Work collaboratively with catering assistants and other staff to ensure timely meal service. Comply with infection control and health & safety regulations.Essential Requirements Previous experience as a Cook or Chef (preferably in healthcare or large-scale catering). Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate desirable). Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
