Job title: Commis Chef Salary: £27,622 Location: 20 Devonshire Place, London Job type: Permanent Hours: 40 hours p.w, typical shifts are 7 am - 3.30 pm, 12.30 pm to 9 pm (contracted across Monday to Sunday/max 5 days p.w) The role We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our kitchen team here at The London Clinic. In this role you will support our senior chefs in preparing high quality food for our patients, visitors and staff. As a leading private hospital, we maintain high standards in our food giving you the chance to learn directly from our professional chefs and to develop the skills needed to prepare restaurant-quality food. No previous kitchen experience is required, just a genuine love for food, a positive attitude and the passion to grow your career as a chef. There is also the potential for us to support you to gain an Apprenticeship qualification (NVQ Level 2 in Food Production). Key Duties Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items under the guidance of senior chefs Follow recipes and presentation standards consistently Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, workstations and storage areas Ensure all food is prepared, stored and handled safely in line with food safety and hygiene regulations Support stock rotation and assist with deliveries Learn and develop skills in various areas of the kitchen, including sauces, garnishes and basic knife work Any other reasonable duty or task required by the Head Chef or Senior Chef on duty Maintain the confidentiality of patient information To attend training courses as required Skills and Experience Some prior kitchen experience is a bonus but not essential as full training will be provided Good standard of English, both verbal and written Flexibility to work shifts to include evenings, weekends and holidays Benefits We offer a range of benefits including flexible working and great career opportunities.
