Hotel Porter/Doorman

We are seeking a motivated Hotel Porter to join the Front Office team and provide a warm, welcoming, and professional experience for all guests. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating exceptional first and last impressions while supporting smooth hotel operations. Critical Criteria (Requirements) Previous experience as a porter, bellman, or in guest services within a hotel environment is advantageous Strong communication and interpersonal skills Physically fit, able to lift and carry luggage safely Professional appearance and excellent grooming standards Friendly, service-oriented personality with strong attention to detail Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays South African citizen with a valid ID Key Competencies Guest Arrival & Departure Assistance Greet guests warmly, assist with luggage, and escort to rooms with a professional introduction to facilities and services Front-of-House Support Provide courteous assistance with directions, transport, hotel information, and delivery of messages, parcels, or amenities Service Excellence Anticipate guest needs, provide proactive, friendly service, and maintain a polished and approachable appearance Operational Duties Ensure lobby, entrances, and luggage storage areas remain clean, organised, and secure; handle guest property with care Team Collaboration Support concierge, reception, and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations Duties & Responsibilities Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with luggage to rooms Escort departing guests, ensuring luggage is handled efficiently Provide information and assistance to guests regarding hotel services and local attractions Deliver messages, parcels, and guest amenities promptly and courteously Maintain cleanliness and organisation of lobby, entrances, and luggage storage areas Handle guest property with care, ensuring security and accountability Support other departments as needed to ensure smooth hotel operations Uphold the hotels values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and Integrity Important Application Notes Must hold a valid South African ID Only candidates with relevant experience will be shortlisted Ensure your CV is 100% updated All applicants will attend a virtual introduction interview Recruitment aligns with the companys Employment Equity Plan About the Hotel The President Hotel is on a journey to be recognised as a true luxury destination.
