Job Description Job Description Description: Sales Manager – Defoor Hospitality Group is growing the sales team at The Embassy Suites in Hamilton Place. We are hiring for a Sales Manager to take the sales effort to the next level. Prior hotel Sales Manager experience is required. Defoor Hospitality is based in Chattanooga, and manages a portfolio of five hotels, four of which are in downtown Chattanooga. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, positive, energetic, and service-oriented person who is looking to create their own niche in the group sales market. This person will be hotel revenue focused and will work to penetrate the market to capture REVPAR index by seeking out and securing large group accounts, business groups and meeting planners to book revenue into the hotel. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Achieve budgeted monthly room nights, rate, and revenue goals for the designated market. Maintain aggressive prospecting goals to include telephone, site inspections and outside sales calls for both retention and new clients. Build and manage relationships with clients to help cultivate and elevate the hotel and market share awareness and drive business. Demonstrate the drive to find new business and new contacts within current clients to drive an increase in revenue to the hotel. Ensure clear and precise oral and verbal communication with all clients in a timely and effective manner. Represent the hotel with prospective clients and current clients in a positive and professional manner. Willing to “hit the streets” and maintain a weekly goal of outside sales calls and appointments with new and existing customers, as well as travel to regional markets. Manage and negotiate all the terms of the contract so that all aspects of the event are complete and documented. Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends for developing new sales strategies for the corporate group market. Job Requirements: Minimum of four-years sales experience in a management role. Minimum of two-years in hotel sales. A four-year degree or equivalent experience. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Confidence and ability to give presentations to small groups. Strong and effective negotiation skills and the ability to convince and influence professional and hotel guests. Ability to make decisions based on established policies and procedures. Strong administrative skills, to include business writing, mathematics, and knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. DeFoor Hospitality Group is an equal opportunity employer. Requirements:
