Job Description Job Description $75,000 PLUS BONUS BLUS HEALTH INSURANCE PLUS PTO RELOCATION EXPENSES PAID Role Summary- The Kitchen Manager oversees all back-of-house operations to ensure consistent food quality, safety, and team performance. This leader is responsible for executing El Chico’s recipes, systems, and standards while maintaining an organized, efficient, and sanitary kitchen. The Kitchen Manager partners closely with the General Manager to drive food cost, labor control, and overall profitability while developing a cohesive and motivated BOH team. Key Responsibilities Supervise all kitchen operations — prep, line, expo, and dish — ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent food preparation in accordance with El Chico recipes and standards. Maintain food quality and presentation standards at all times; conduct regular line checks to verify recipe accuracy, portion control, and plating consistency. Monitor food costs, inventory, and waste control; perform weekly inventory counts and place accurate food and supply orders. Manage BOH scheduling and labor budgets in alignment with forecasted sales and productivity goals. Ensure compliance with all sanitation, health, and safety regulations, as well as company procedures for cleanliness and maintenance. Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff to uphold high performance, teamwork, and accountability; coach and discipline as needed in accordance with company policy. Maintain strong working relationships with FOH management to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction. Implement company initiatives, menu rollouts, and limited-time offerings according to timeline and specifications. Oversee receiving, storage, rotation, and labeling of all food products to ensure freshness and minimize loss. Participate in daily and weekly manager meetings to review goals, performance metrics, and upcoming needs. Ensure equipment functionality and cleanliness; promptly report and follow up on maintenance issues. Foster a positive and respectful kitchen culture that values safety, communication, and pride in craftsmanship. Required Qualifications Minimum of 3–5 years of kitchen management or culinary leadership experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant environment. Proven ability to manage kitchen operations, inventory, food costs, and labor budgets effectively. Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to develop and motivate kitchen teams. Comprehensive understanding of food safety standards (ServSafe or equivalent certification required). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to multitask under pressure and meet deadlines. Proficiency with POS systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office/Excel for reporting and scheduling. Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.
