Job Description Job Description About the Role: The Junior Allies Soccer Coach at Eastshore Alliance Fútbol Club plays a pivotal role in nurturing young athletes' development both on and off the field. This position focuses on teaching fundamental soccer skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting sportsmanship among junior players. This position is ideal for aspiring coaches, former players, high school or college students, or individuals who want to give back to their community through sport. Junior Allies Coaches work under the guidance of the Junior Allies Coordinator to deliver fun, engaging, and age-appropriate soccer sessions Additionally, the role involves mentoring players to build confidence, discipline, and a positive attitude towards competition and collaboration. Ultimately, the Junior Allies Coach contributes to creating a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages lifelong engagement with the sport. Key Responsibilities: Coach weekly practices and play dates/ games in accordance with EAFC’s methodology and values Create a welcoming, safe, and fun learning environment for beginner players Implement activities that focus on coordination, ball familiarity, and teamwork Support players of all abilities and backgrounds, emphasizing inclusion and encouragement Help set up, manage, and take down equipment before and after each session Reinforce the club’s core values: Player-Centered, Growth Mindset, Respect, and Integrity Communicate with program staff and families in a timely and respectful manner Monitor player attendance and participation; flag any concerns to the Junior Allies Coordinator Minimum Qualifications: Experience playing or coaching youth soccer at a recreational or competitive level. Basic knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and training methods. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with young players and their families. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Availability during afternoons, evenings and weekends, based on program schedule. Preferred Qualifications: Coaching certification from a recognized soccer organization (e.g., US Soccer Federation). Experience working with children aged 5-9 in a sports or educational setting. Background in youth development or sports psychology. Familiarity with Eastshore Alliance Fútbol Club’s coaching philosophy and programs. Bilingual abilities to communicate with diverse player families.
