Pay Information $2,236 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years nursing experience License: Pending license okay, must be in hand prior to start Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - MS/Tele experience within the last year - Experience with high acuity patients Description: Looking for a registered nurse with a skill set in Progressive Care Unit/Medical-Surgical/Telemetry due to a high acuity patient population. This role involves working in a long-term acute care setting where patients remain highly acute. Patients range from med-surg types to those requiring intubation or tracheostomy care and mechanical ventilation. They require extended stays before being discharged to home, acute rehabilitation, or skilled nursing facilities. Nurses with critical care experience often float to this unit due to the patient acuity. Common patient cases include those recovering from open-heart surgery, cystic fibrosis, ventilator weaning, pulmonary fibrosis, and a high volume of sepsis patients related to wounds. This position requires self-scheduling and includes every third weekend as part of the contract, which totals eight weekend shifts. Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 1:5. This setting supports interdisciplinary care, including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy.
