Job Description Job Description The RV Technician plays a vital role in ensuring our recreational vehicles are safe, functional, and ready for customer rentals. This part-time position is ideal for a skilled technician looking for steady work with the potential to grow into a full-time role. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical abilities, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience working across multiple RV systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, propane, and structural components. Carpentry proficiency is a plus, as many repairs involve cabinetry, flooring, interior/exterior paneling, and custom modifications. A clean and reliable driving record is essential, as this role may include transporting RVs to and from events, customer sites, or our facility. Key Responsibilities Diagnosis & Repair Inspect, diagnose, and repair RV systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, propane, appliances, and structural components. Troubleshoot issues efficiently to ensure fast turnaround times. Carpentry & Structural Work Repair and install cabinetry, flooring, paneling, trim, and other custom interior or exterior components. Perform structural modifications and small-scale rebuilds as needed. Preventative Maintenance Complete routine maintenance such as battery checks, oil changes, tire inspections, lubrication, seal checks, and safety evaluations. Customer & Team Communication Clearly communicate service findings and repair recommendations to internal team members or customers. Document all work performed accurately and timely. Parts & Inventory Management Identify, source, and order necessary parts. Maintain an organized workspace, tools, and parts inventory. Team Collaboration & Safety Work collaboratively with the service and operations team to meet deadlines. Follow all safety procedures and stay updated on RV industry standards. Transportation, Delivery & Pick-Up Safely transport, deliver, and retrieve RV units from customer locations, event sites, or storage facilities. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and readiness. Maintain a clean driving record and comply with company and DOT standards. Assist with placement, leveling, and site setup when delivering units to events or customers. Skills & Qualifications Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Hands-on experience with RV electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and propane systems. Carpentry expertise including cabinetry, flooring, paneling, and structural repair. Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Comfortable lifting heavy equipment and working in tight spaces. Competent with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Work Environment Position based in Mount Dora, FL. Work performed on-site at our facility and occasionally through mobile service calls. Outdoor tasks required in various weather conditions. Part-time schedule with flexibility; weekend or on-call work may be needed during peak seasons.
