TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in San Bernardino, California, 92404! Pay Information $2,408 per week About The Position Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years required License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Compassionate patient care skills Description: The unit is licensed for 44 beds but currently utilizing 36. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS, with CCRN being preferred. Nurse-to-patient ratios are either 1:2 or 1:1. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner Power Chart. A charge nurse is present but does not take patient assignments. There are no nurse aides; however, a unit technician is available for secretary and equipment duties. Weekend work is required every other weekend, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, for both days and nights. Holidays are part of the regular rotation, as staff is needed most during these times. Scrub color is navy blue. Monitoring involves 44 hardwired monitors with a monitoring technician available; however, there is no centralized monitoring. Common drips include vasopressors, nitroglycerin, and heparin. Ventilator support is utilized. A hospitalist or intensivist is present 24/7. The respiratory therapy team is available around the clock. The pharmacy operates 24/7 as well. Shifts are from 0645-1915 and 1845-0715. There is no self-scheduling for shifts. Floating is required to telemetry and emergency departments for ICU holds. Floor-specific orientation includes one day on the ICU and one shift on the telemetry/step-down unit. Common patient diagnoses include cardiac conditions, post-cardiac intervention, open-heart procedures, sepsis, alcohol-related issues, strokes, CABG, stenting, balloon pumps, and craniotomies. Travel nurses will not be assigned fresh open-heart or craniotomy cases. General medical-surgical ICU nurses are encouraged to apply. Three years of experience is required unless the candidate comes from a large institution with two or more years of experience. Prior travel experience is preferred. There is a strong emphasis on patient satisfaction, so travel nurses must be skilled, competent, and compassionate in patient care. The facility can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment and three shifts for shorter assignments.
