Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect either full-time or 40 hours per week. If a part-time work schedule is reflected, the hours must be annotated to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-11 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: Have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience include: monitoring status of funds or financial transactions for an organization; analyzing and reconciling budget and fiscal documents; assisting with or developing budget submissions; generating a variety of written documents, reports, etc., to communicate detailed financial information; and explaining, recommending or providing guidance on financial/budget regulatory or statutory requirements, policies, and procedures.
EDUCATION: have 3 years of higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field directly related to the position to be filled. This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. You must provide a transcript.
Have a combination of specialized experience as described above and education as described above which total at 100%. For example, 6 months of specialized experience (50% of the specialized experience) and two and a half years (45 credits) of graduate education (50% of the education) would qualify an applicant for this position. Only graduate education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (i.e. beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. PLEASE NOTE: You must include a copy of your college transcripts when qualifying based on education. Failure to include this documentation will make you ineligible for this position. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
