Job Description

The primary purpose of the position is to operate one or more motor vehicles, which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 26,000 pounds and up to 32,000 pounds. The vehicles operated by this position meet the definition of a commercial motor vehicle, and the incumbent of the position is required to have a commercial driver's license (CDL). This is a Testing Designated Position (TOP) and is subject to pre-employment testing.

Job Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles) Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation) Ability To Operate Safely (Non-Motor Vehicle) Operation of Motor Vehicles Reliability and Dependability as a Motor Vehicle Operator Vehicle Operation Work Practices (including keeping things neat, clean, and in order) SCREEN OUT: Have experience independently operating motor vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of more than 26,000 pounds and up to 32,000 pounds for hauling, dumping, spreading, trash removal, etc. over rough terrain, in close quarters such as campgrounds, and in heavy traffic; Independently interpret and follow oral and written instructions, perform routine operator maintenance, and lift and carry items weighing over 50 pounds. SCREEN OUT CDL: This position requires that the incumbent must possess a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or higher without restrictions (E Restriction {automatic transmission} acceptable) or pending disqualifying offenses by this vacancy announcement closing date. You will be required to provide a copy of your CDL if selected. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
